Kefalonia, what a lovely place it has once more confirmed my future plans of buying and living in that part of the world, truly stunning . The apartment was, well... Let me say small, but what more do you need but somewhere to eat, sleep and shower. That last necessity was the one thing I had my problem with, we didn't have what I and most would call a 'shower' more like a hose from the wall with a shower head attached! Picture but a small price to pay for a week in paradise.

Like so many other holiday goers and much to my surprise I fitted into the 'oh so predictable-I read on holiday' category. In a last minute attempt to equip myself with a few interesting paperbacks to pass the time, I came across the complete set of Tolkien's Hobbit, Lord of the Rings & Similiaran. Yes although I've read them all a few times and probably have copies of each hidden in many places around my flat, this set was in a very appealing matte black. The other choice I had was from an author I'd heard a little about but never actually read - Terry Pratchett. Knowing that he has a whole string of novels , I was keen to try and start at the begining of it all. After 10 minutes of trying to figure out what book came first I gave up and opted for the 'get my moneys worth' approach , so I just picked up the thickest 2!

Book The science of Discworld
