Law unto herself...

I was shocked to hear a report of the anger of a mother who was very upset that her 14 year old daughter had been through a termination of a pregnancy without her even knowing.Now I wasn't shocked at teenage abortion but by the mother, who has called for the law to be changed as she finds it unbelievable that at present the mother will only be informed if the daughter wishes [in the case she didn't]. Now this law is there to protect the young women from the sometimes harmful family, surely the real problem here is the lack of communication of the Mother-Daughter relationship. If she felt the Mother was there to listen, no matter what, then the Law wouldn't have been needed!

It seems that some highly paid top secret member of the Police left details of Maxine Carrs release and new identity in a car in London. Now it was of no suprise to many who live in the capital that the car was broken into and the contents stolen, after all its one of the greatest areas of car crime in the country! Yes the papaerwork was recovered and maybe the secret [if it was not a stunt to deter the public] was safe... But if mambers of the Police are not aware of the level of car crime and stupidity of leaving valuables in your car, then what does that say for crime prevention.

Now the treatment of Iraqis by both US and British troops are under the spotlight across the world and quite rightly so. The pictures published by the Daily Mirror [a high quality newspaper] brought this home to the British nation with an almighty thump, my pennys worth is that they are fakes but I'm also sure there is truth behind the allegations. Another reason for us all to get out and concentrate on our own problems back here?! With the elections coming where's the party that will look after the British nation without having to go abroad, answers on a postcard please.
