[80's] Square eyes...

One of my favourite memories from my childhood were the TV programs never again would television play such a huge part in my life! Nowadyas my own son has so many other things to do [playstation, pc, skateboards, ski-ing] that television is there occasionally, unless I think back to the days I had SKY and Nickledeon or Cartoon network that was all he needed! But I have had the pleasure of watching a few of the programmes I used to love back then, were they as good this time around? Well, NO but the memories are better so I am deceiding to steer clear of some of the greats in case it ruins those precious memories!!

Mr Benn (only 7 ever made but I watched it for years and didn't notice) Bagpuss, The Flumps, Terrorhawks, Why don't You, Number 73, Pob... oh does the list go on? YES A-Team, Knight Rider, Bullseye (rumoured to be coming back)Gummy Bears, Transformers, He-man, Dungeons & Dragons, Fingermouse, Dangermouse, Supergran, even Larry the Lamb and what about little Ivor the engine [Pshh-t-cuf, pshh-t-cuf, pshh-t-cuf, pshh-t-cuf, pshh-t-cuf]

And just to really get the brain ticking...Do you remember watching a house inhabited by a jester, a pantomime horse and a woman who sneezed, and thinking that this was perfectly normal??! Answers on a postcard.

School dinners...

Well recently i have been thinking about what like to think as the good old days, brought on in part by Estelle's 1980's track. So i thought i'd start a mini series of 80's themed blogs. Starting today with dinners, now i know they have a bad reputation but i can only remember the rice pudding and milk! The dinners themselves couldn't have been either bad or good or i'd remember something. What i do know is i was rather jealous of the kids who had packed lunches, they always seemed to have something better or more exciting than you!

Be prepared, be very prepared...

I have to congratualte the maker of the spoof site for the 'Preparing for emergencies' leaflet the government has recently posted to us all... I hadn't yet had chance to have a look and compare the 2 sites until today, but it's a very funny read if you get chance. Also if you do have a spare 3 hour slot in your day have a look through the creators website, I see he has a Pigeon Street massacre game where, and I quote "This is based on the 80s children's TV series "Pigeon Street", only with a shotgun to shoot the pigeons with. " need I say anymore. I used to love that program but I heading off to blow some flying pests away right now!

And if you are looking for the real site... why I really don't know its Real thing

Road closed...
Traffic cones, why is it that so many are used pointlessly? The company that produces them must offer a pretty substantial bung to road maintenance workers. I sense another conspiracy theory here, after all why on a got sunny morning in rush hour on the main road from the only motorway in south Wales on the roundabout leading to the national Welsh festival during school holidays... [Pause for breath] do i have to find everything coned off to one lane and not a workman in sight! How much revenue does the government get from sales of green reflective plastic i wonder?

Fully mobile...

Well in a desperate bid to actually get time to write on here more often I have now managed to set up my mobile to Blog for me. Technology eh! Just think back to the early 80's and this mobile communication was a dream, ok we're still not using hovercars [sadly, but wouldn't that be great - no new tyres] but now I can call my other half and even see her new hairstyle from 100's of miles away...

All i have to do now is make a little mobile icon to show i'm blogging remotely.
