Every little helps...

This weekend saw me living my childhood with my son and nephew again. Firstly we went ice skating and this is something ive done on all of 4 occassions now, my son 3 but the thing was that years spent on rollerskates at the weekends taught me to skate and skate well... So on ice and fifteen years later I suprisingly still can. My son on the other hand is still learning but credit to him for having no fear! My nephew... Well again he tries but having the problem of balance to overcome still. After the cold we decided to warm up with my special meatballs and watch Alvin and the chipmunks, again a blast from my childhood and something the kids haven't even heard of. Suprised me to find out that they were invented more than 50 years ago?! Damn long time to get on the big screen then. I'm already planning a wombles movie... Watch this space.

Well its been a busy weekend the last day at work saw my suprise leaving party... And I thought I could sneak off quietly! I've also had to pack for working in another city and now I'm here in a hotel next to some place called the British dyslexic association. That made me think why they made the word dyslexia so hard to read and spell... Is this a way of poking fun at the people it describes! I've also managed to watch my Spurs play their best and still go out of the cup and the film No country for old men, was pretty good and not the usual Coen bros thing but a gripping story of an evil man with a bob and a mission!

Well as usual I had to pop into the supermarket on the way home today to ensure I have enough food to keep my and my son alive all weekend. Not exactly the most exciting thing to take your only child to, but shopping is unfortunately part of life... Until you marry and the wife does it. But at least I'm proud to say my son can tell the difference between fusulli and taglatelli, and for the first time today left him incharge of the dinner. Yes he's only ten but will happily eat anything put on his plate, is not fussy and doesn't say things like 'I don't like those' to something he's never even tasted. I'm proud to be a food snob and twice as proud my son knows the difference between 2 types of pasta. Its just a shame sainsbury's still have trouble with putting pancetta with cooked meats and not bacon... Peasants!
